The Yellow Boom Editorial Code sets the standards our journalists follow in every story we publish.
Accuracy
Every factual claim must be verified by at least two independent sources before publication. When a single source is used, it must be named and the limitation disclosed to readers.
Independence
No journalist may write about an organisation or individual in which they hold a financial interest. No advertiser may influence editorial decisions.
Corrections
Errors are corrected promptly and transparently. Corrections appear at the top of the article with a clear explanation of what was wrong and what the correct information is.
Sources
We name sources wherever possible. Anonymous sourcing is used only when a source faces genuine risk and the information is in the public interest.
Conflicts of Interest
Journalists disclose personal connections to story subjects. Section editors review disclosures and reassign stories where appropriate.
